The member agreement
JCS Marketplace is a not for profit community initiative. It makes resale between members easier, and is never a party to the deal.
A community board, run by volunteers
JCS Marketplace is a free, not for profit community initiative. It does not buy, sell, hold stock, take a commission or handle any money. It only makes it easier for members to find each other and pass things on.
Every deal is between the buyer and the seller
Each sale, swap or service is agreed directly between the two members involved. The marketplace, its organisers and its volunteers are not a party to it.
Do your own due diligence
Buyers: see the item, test that it works and ask your questions before you pay. Sellers: confirm the payment has arrived before you hand anything over. Both: be satisfied the other person is who they say they are.
Listings are not checked or guaranteed
Each listing is written by the member who posted it. Nobody verifies items, descriptions, prices, condition, ownership or identities, and no warranty of any kind is given.
The marketplace is not liable
To the fullest extent the law allows, the marketplace, its organisers and its volunteers are not responsible for any loss, damage, injury, fraud or dispute that comes from a listing, a meeting or a deal. Disputes are for the buyer and seller to settle between themselves.
Meet and pay safely
Meet in a busy public place in daylight and take someone with you. Pay on the spot by cash or e-Transfer. Never pay in advance for something you have not seen, and never share a password or a one time code.
List honestly and lawfully
Only your own preowned items or your own services. Nothing illegal, stolen, counterfeit, recalled or unsafe. Admins may remove any listing or account that breaks this agreement or the house rules.
Every member signs this once, straight after creating an account. Create an account or sign in.
